Revelation 4:11

11 “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure, they are and were created.”

A story was told of an old man who went about asking people what they were doing on earth. The man would walk up to a young man and ask in a loud voice “Why are you here?” As the men ask in surprise “what do you mean?” the old man would laugh and say in a loud voice “what are you doing here on earth?”. With a smile he leaves this portion of the Bible with them, “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure, they are and were created.”

The biblical account of man’s creation makes reference to God (who is without beginning or end) creating Man in His image and likeness (Genesis 1:26-27). One big question here is Why would God create you in His image and not as every other thing he had created? Man was not created like Monkeys, lizards or birds. In fact, Genesis 9:6 reveals to us this difference and its importance to us and God.

God must have had a great agenda to have created us in His image. The same book of Genesis talks about the beauty of Gods creation until the fall of man. God and Man fellowshipped together intimately until sin marred this relationship. As Men in the image of God we were placed on earth to show forth the glory of God in the beauty of all he made. We were made to reflect His glory, show His character, create like Him, give life to the lifeless, and more. Unfortunately, the devil stepped in. The devil deceived man, and man rebelled against God (By desiring to be like God just as the devil did (Genesis 3:5)).

Do you know dear friend that God made Man god over the earth and all in it, including over Satan (Genesis 1:28 – 30)? The devil outsmarted Man by deceiving Man into sinning against God. This gave Satan control over the earth and led to the subjection of all creation. For this reason, Jesus had to come. Jesus came to restore to Man his godship (dominion) over the earth and all in it (including Satan). There is, however, a price every man must pay to be reconciled back to God through Jesus. John 3:16 speaks of Gods love and His plan to save mankind, Romans 10:9 speaks about salvation. Also read “Have You Heard the Good News of Salvation” to learn about Jesus and the price you must pay.

So, are you living in the Image of God? Have you regained your lost authority? The only way to regain your authority is by accepting what Jesus did for you on the cross. If you have done that, make sure you are a true ambassador of God here on earth. God made the earth for You (His child) for his good pleasure. Dominate and let His glory reflect in all He has made. This is why we are Here!

Meditation (Psalm 96:11-13)

11 Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it. 12 Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy. 13 Let all creation rejoice before the LORD, for he comes, he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in his faithfulness.
