Why are we here?

The Psalmist tells us how we have been fearfully and wonderfully made. One certain thing I can tell you is that your maker never looks down or gives up on you, and

Where is wisdom?

Proverbs 2: 1- 6

My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding— indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

There is no wisdom other than the understanding of the fear of God. Do not be deceived, all the toiling of men without God is foolishness. Wisdom is exposure to the light of God. As long as a man remains separated from His creator all his ways are full of darkness and foolishness. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom dear friend.

A fool says in his heart there is no God

One may then ask “what really is wisdom, and why do we need wisdom?” from the above scripture we see that wisdom is understanding the fear of the Lord. Whoever recognizes God as his Lord and accords all reverence to Him such is a wise man. The bible says a wise man builds his house upon the rock (Mathew 7: 24-27). Only a wise man recognizes the coming of the day of the Lord (Isaiah 24:21-22) and prepares for it by acknowledging God in all his ways.

A major setback on earth today is the loss of priority. The struggles of the world have made men change what is valuable unto eternity with what is temporal and fade away like dew in the sky. The value of your soul and where you will spend eternity is worth more than the temporal pleasures of the flesh. Only a wise man numbers His days and decides to prepare for eternity now.

I remember waking up one early morning and pondering about the reality of death. I began thinking of people (young men and women) I knew that are no more. This refreshed my mind on the reality of death. As I wondered deeper in thoughts I could hear my mind scream “death is certain”.

Dear friend, death is certain, eternal life is also certain. A wise man will make preparations for the journey ahead. What preparations are you making? are you more concerned with the temporal life here on earth or have you secured a better life after death with Jesus? Remember, wisdom does not exist outside the understanding of the fear of God.

To make peace with God today and begin to walk in Wisdom, say this prayer:

Lord Jesus, I thank you for presenting this great opportunity to me. Without you, there is no hope for eternity. I acknowledge you this day as my Lord and savior. I confess that you died for my sins and rose to give me power over sin. Come into my heart and be the Lord of my life. Lead me onwards as I submit totally to your Lordship over my life. Amen

If you said this prayer, you have made Jesus the Lord of your life. Congratulations You are now a son of God. God will guide you as you walk through this earth and use you as a tool to bring others into knowing Him. Be rest assured that you will never perish in death but you will reign forever with Christ.
