What refund would you want?

ArticlesWhat refund would you want?

Imagine living in a foreign land for seven years paying for your education, house rents, water bills, bus fares, and electricity bills then a wealthy businessman comes up to you asking you “Which of these would you want a full refund for?” what will be your answer?

Definitely, most people will ask for a refund of the one that costs the most. For me, I will definitely ask for a refund of my house rent as cumulatively I have spent the most on house rents.

Getting such refunds will certainly brighten my days. Thinking about this reminds me of another kind of refund we are entitled to but have no idea about. The refund of your life here on earth.

The opportunity to get a refund for your life is presented to you daily. However, many are still busy running after vanity and fail to realize this great opportunity. Come to think about it, the refund for your life is the most valuable refund you can ever ask for. Having your life back gives you the opportunity of amending all wrongs.

In Luke 23:42 we see a condemned man get a full refund of his life as he said “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom!” In Genesis 32:22-32, Jacob also got a full refund and his life changed forever.

Despite the several mistakes you might have made, a full refund to amend before God all the wrongs is available today. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-29, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”

The rest Jesus gives sets you free from all the guilts you feel and the judgment you deserve. Trust me accepting Jesus’s rest sets you totally free, you no longer need to feel guilty or suffer from your actions.

Why Jesus is sufficient?

Imagine you never knew about sin, Imagine the bad thing you did was never considered bad by anyone on earth, Imagine the thing or things you did are not sin in your eyes, imagine you never had the capability to do it. Will you still feel guilty? You see, man never knew sin until Adam(the first man) broke Gods’ command (see: Man’s fall) then all men became guilty of sin.

You are guilty today of sin because of the fall of one man (Romans 5:12). So, sincerely, your sinful nature is not your fault. However as sin came through one man and it affect us all, Salvation also came through one man (Jesus the son of God) and is made available to all who believe in Him(Romans 5:18-19).

Jesus helps you re-live life, He gives you a clean slate you can trust. Confess what you have done to Jesus and ask him to be your lord. He forgives you and blots away all your transgressions (Hebrews 8:12).
