Genesis 5:24
24 Enoch walked with God; then he was no more because God took him away. (NIV)

Walking with God is not having a stroll or physical walk out with him; it is a spiritual issue that covers all one’s life purposes and actions. The question is how does one walk with God?

The first step in beginning a walk with God starts from believing in Him: One that has not believed in God through faith in Christ can no way walk with Him. Putting our faith in God through Christ is salvation. Enoch could walk with God because he believed in him. We can know this by what is revealed in Hebrews 11:5 and his prophesies in Jude 14-15. Nothing could have given him the privilege of knowing about the activities of God in the end time if not that he believed in God.

The second step is righteous living: From what is recorded of Enoch, it is clear that he lived an upright life. No one can be sinful and be able to walk with God. In fact, sin is a demarcation; therefore one that walks with God does not have room for such a lifestyle enumerated in Gal. 5:19-21; Rev. 21:8-9. When the word of God controls and guides one in all things at all times, such is evidently walking with God.

Through prayer: The purpose of prayer for the believer is not to command God to do all his biddings or force the hand of God to carry out his commands and wishes. It is to make the believer to conform to the will of God for his life and be able to accept whatsoever God allows in his life in all conditions whether to his advantage or not so far it is to the glory of God (2Cor. 12:9). Therefore, prayer might not change all things but must change the believer to the will of God in all things. Prayer is communicating with God. You cannot walk with the one you don’t communicate or relate with. So in communicating with God the believer knows better the mind of God and his demands and as he obeys that, he is walking with God.

Through the word of God: The word of God contains all that we need for our walk with God. It reveals God to us in the person of Jesus Christ and how we will worship him. Obedient to his word means walking with Him. To obey his word means that whatsoever the believer does must be as the bible commands.

This week I pray that you will live right as the word of God shall be your guide in all you do.

I pray that you will have a cordial communication with him as you enjoy his presence in prayer in the name of Jesus Christ.

See you next week if Christ tarries. Come, Lord Jesus!
