Walking in the Spirit

Romans 8:1.
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

One of the causes of depression these days is inner condemnation. The design of society makes it almost impossible not to compare yourself with others. Comparing ones’ self to another leads to self-condemnation. “I am not yet this, I’m yet to attain this height, my mates are far ahead, I’m not yet married, I don’t have so and so degree yet”.

We condemn/belittle ourselves and worst of all we forget who God says we are. Although we know that there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus but it is sometimes hard not to be condemned inwardly and outwardly. That’s why the same scripture says we are to walk after the Spirit.

Walking after the Spirit is living in accordance to the leading of the Holy Spirit. This is not a challenge void kind of life but it is a life full of peace. You are always informed of your state of being and most importantly you are not condemned inwardly and outwardly because the Spirit of the living God is leading you. You know who you are and where you are at every point in life.
