Trust in the name of the Lord

DevotionsTrust in the name of the Lord

Text: Psalm 20: 7. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. 8. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.

A warrior is not known in the day of festivals but on the day of battle, a warrior is known.
In the time of battle, the strength and backbone of men are revealed.
The Bible says, if you faint in the days of adversity, then your strength is small. Proverbs  24:10.
It bleeds my heart when I see people putting their trust in idols crafted by the hands of men.
Idols that have eyes but yet blind, mouth but still dumb and ears but still deaf. Psalms 135:15-17, 115:4-8.
Many have put their trust in their sorcery, the strength of their charm and black magic and they are brought down and fallen. But we will remember the name of the Lord our God, we are risen and stand upright.
No power in heaven, on the earth, beneath the earth, can withstand the name of the Lord our God.
The name of the Lord is a sure refuge for the righteous. Proverbs 18:10.

The Bible tells us on how the 450 prophets of Baal continued deceiving an entire nation until the day of battle, the world saw that Baal was dead.
In 1 Kings 18:17-21. Elijah put the prophets of Baal to a test, for the nation of Israel to choose for themselves who to serve, if God or god.
It was a simple contest, “any God that would answer and consume the sacrifice of bullocks by fire”.
The 450 prophets of Baal, took their bullock, dressed It, and called unto Baal but there was no voice, nor any that answered.
From morning until the evening Baal never answered.
Despite they had cut themselves, still Baal remained silent. Despite the mockings of Elijah, yet Baal couldn’t vindicate them. 1 Kings 18:26-29.

Elijah knew that our God is a consuming fire.
Jehova never fails.
When we call, He answers.
As Elijah prepared the Altar and called upon the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies, instantly, fire fell from Heaven, consumed the burnt sacrifice, the wood, the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water in the trench all at once. The sacrifice was consumed once. 1 Kings 18:30-38.
At Elijah’s command, the 450 prophets of Baal were killed and the entire nation of Israel returned back to God.

Today I declare in Jesus’ name, whatever that has fought your life, any power that has troubled you is destroyed forever.
Today, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel will fight for you and your family.
I see you coming out of that battle unharmed.
You are coming out victorious!
In Jesus Christ name.
It is well with your soul.

Keep trusting in the name that fails not.
Remain in the secret place of the highest God.
