Matthew 7:3 NKJV
“And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?”
It’s a common thing for many Christians to see how the word of God will affect other people’s life instead of theirs. Are you also in such a category? Before you answer this question, can you take a moment and think about the following.
When you read or hear the word of God about correction or rebuke, who do you relate it to first? How often do you spot the problem in people’s life or Christian walk with God? Do you see the word of God talking to you or others when it is addressing critical issues like pride, lust, jealousy, anger, selfishness etc.?
Maybe as you are reading this, you are already thinking of people who need this message more than you. They may be families or friends but note that every message you come across has something for you. Jesus encouraged us to first check ourselves before checking others. It is good to help others and point them to the right direction. Beyond this, it is better to embrace the word of God because it’s for you also. God bless you.
