The tabernacle in the wilderness

DevotionsThe tabernacle in the wilderness

Exodus 25:1
“Let them construct a sanctuary for Me, that I may dwell among them.”

As we can see in this verse the tabernacle was the portable dwelling place of Yahweh. It was a place of worship.
The question is, why God wanted the children of Israel to build for him a dwelling place even though it was written that He had been with them right from Egypt?

God had shown his mighty hand among His people by dividing the Red Sea and so many other miracles He had performed, but why then the tabernacle?

You know, it is good to know about God, it is good to talk about Him but it is different to know who He is to us personally. Inasmuch as God wants to be at the centre of everything, He prefers to be first at the centre of your life. The tabernacle was designed to achieve that.

God wants us to be united to him, and the only way we who had been separated from God by our sins could be reunited to Him was for Jesus to die.  Because of Jesus’s death and resurrection, the dwelling plan of God was fulfilled to those who believe in Jesus. The tabernacle signifies Gods dwelling at the centre of the heart of Man. Is Jesus dwelling in you?

Inasmuch as God wants or performs miracles in your life, His longing is to be at the centre of your heart
