Text: Luke 22: 31.
“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. 32. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”
As Christians, we have one enemy, “the devil.” And we have one battle, “the battle of our faith”.
The enemy fights us with challenges, troubles of life, with one intention of destroying our faith in Christ Jesus.
God wants us to stand in prayers for our brothers and sisters in the faith.
Grow the good habit of Interceding in prayers for your pastors, your spiritual mentors and parents, your fellow brethren in the faith.
When God leads you to pray for another believer, please pray.
In Acts 12, the church had failed on the area of intercession and Herod killed James, the Bible says, that he was pleased and wanted to kill Peter also, but in verse 5, prayer was made without ceasing unto God and Peter was rescued by the Lord’s Angel.
There is power in intercession.
Every local church must have a strong spiritual prayer intercessory unit that would secretly grow the church in the place of prayer and the spiritual leaders of the church.
From our text, Jesus said to Simon, that the devil had planned to sift all of them like a wheat (speaking of Peter’s denial and the separation after JESUS’ death), but the Lord said; I have prayed for you.
And Indeed even when Peter had denied Jesus Christ, he repented and continued in his faith because Jesus already had prayed for him.
Do you perceive coldness in your local church? Pray for the church.
Are there challenges in the family business?
Pray for the bearer and the business.
Do you have distant friends and relatives that are afflicted?
Pray for them.
Is your nation under turmoil?
Pray for your nation and the leaders.
We must not be like little babes when we pray, it’s natural for a little baby to be selfish.
Pray for someone today.
