Text: Psalm 34: 8. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
Water is known for its ability to renew strength and refresh a man.
At the absence of water, life suffers dehydration, indigestion, and even death.
Water only quenches the thirst of men temporarily no matter the amount
Spiritually we have water in the form of other gods that would only give you a temporal thirst, and we have another type of water that would not only satisfy your thirst forever but become a life-giving spirit to you.
Jesus Christ the first son of God is not just a living water, but “The” only living water.
Our anchor text tells us to thirst and see that the Lord is good.
A life rooted in Christ enjoys peace and every good thing of life.
When the Samaritan woman thought the water from the well was all she needed, Jesus made it clear to her that no amount of water drawn from this well would satisfy her.
There’s no satisfaction to the pleasures, the luxuries of life.
In the pursuit of money and power, even at the peak of it, men are never satisfied.
The world without Christ is like an open sepulcher that asks for more.
Beloved when you drink of Jesus, your thirst for sin dies, your thirst for worldly power and fame dies, insufficiency dies He becomes to you a well that springs unto eternity.
I have tasted and that is why I boldly speak of Him everywhere I go.
In Jesus’ conversation with the Samaritan woman, the Bible says;
John 4: 10. Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
11. The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
12. Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
13. Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
14. But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
There’s no life without Jesus.
The woman had divorced six husbands until the seventh man came and changed her life.
Beloved, it doesn’t matter how many times you might have failed.
It doesn’t matter what your past has been like.
When Jesus enters, He makes all things brand new.
Jesus will give meaning and satisfaction to your life.
Today, He is knocking at the door of your heart.
