The good sacrifice

The good sacrifice

Text Psalm 51:16-17

You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. 17 My sacrifice, O God, is[b] a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.

Silver and gold belong to the Lord, all the riches of the world are his. The earth is the Lords and its fullness! What then can a man offer to God?

In life, we are always faced with choices. The freedom to choose is Gods gift to all men; Freedom to worship God or to serve the devil, freedom to have a repented heart or a reprobate mind. What do you do with your freedom? is your freedom to worship the devil or to glorify the Lord. David recognized God was not interested in his sacrifice of bulls, sheeps or donkeys, but his sacrifice is a broken and contrite heart. Your expensive gifts are good, your dedicated service to Gods work is good, but God is more interested in your heart. How sold out are you for God? How connected is your heart to him?

It is every mans duty to always ensure his heart is open to Gods instructions and corrections

Prayer: Transform my heart o lord and give me a spirit that is always broken by your word.
