Tarry a little bit more

DevotionsTarry a little bit more

Text: Matthew 26: 40. And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

To tarry is an attitude of staying more than expected at a particular place or situation.
When God tells us to tarry in the place of prayer, He expects we build a prayer Life, spend more time with Him in prayers.
The results of a man who tarries faithfully in prayers with God is of no comparison with the one who spends little or no time with God.
It becomes so boring and heavy when we tarry on a particular event, but in the case of spiritual activities, the best part is always revealed at the bottom.
The secrets are for those that earnestly seek the face of God, forgetting every other activity just to be with God.

A man that tarries in the place of prayer will be rubbed of God’s personality.
A man that tarries with God, controls the spiritual atmosphere of his environment.
Stop approaching God with an unserious attitude.
Do not approach God with an emergency attitude at all times.
God desires we spend quality time with Him in the study of His word, in worship, in prayers.
You’ll be surprised at the rate of which your insight, knowledge of God and His personality will increase as you learn to tarry a little bit more with Him.

See Jesus’ words to His disciples including me and you when He came and saw them sleeping at the time when they ought to be praying;
Matthew 26: 40. And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? 41. Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Clearly, from Jesus’ word, we see that the more we tarry, He less we fall victim of
Satan’s captive and trap.
Begin today by devoting a positive and impactful portion of your time in meeting with God in prayers and in the study of His word.

Shalom.
