DevotionsShadow of the Almighty

Psalm 91:1

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

We all desire to live in peace, we desire safety from our enemies, coverage from attacks and a sense of authority. The shadow of the almighty is a place of peace, a place of refuge and a place of assured safety and a place of unending authority. Nothing evil can befall whoever abides under the shadow of the almighty.

As a christian, you must always desire to abide under the shadow of the almighty because, the devil walks around like a roaring lion in search of a prey.

Our text today exposes us to the secret of abiding under the shadow of the Almighty. Whoever dwells in the secret place of the most high will definitely abide under the shadow of the Almighty. The secret place of the most high is a place of fellowship, a place of communion, It is a secret place of deep spiritual insights and a place of transformation. Accessing this secret place calls for a life determined to please God, a life earnestly desiring God and his transformation, a Holy life.

No matter how dirty you may be at this time, God is ready to wash you as long as you ask for the blood of Jesus to wash you, and you sincerely repent from your sins.

Imaging your father choosing you out of many in other to reveal some deep secrets to you. God desires heart to heart fellowship with you. He wants to reveal deep secrets about his kingdom, his plans, your life and all about you to you. He is calling you into his secret place today because he longs to help you, he wants to protect you.

The book of Isaiah 59:1 says “Behold, the LORD’S hand is not so short That it cannot save; Nor is His ear so dull That it cannot hear. But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear” This tells us how God desires to save us, he desires for us to have his protection, but our sins separate us thereby exposing us to dangers… We ignorantly move away from his secret place giving the devil an edge to strike (Ecclesiastes 10:8).

Child of God keep dwelling in the secret place of the most high, do not let the many distractions of the world lead you astray. If you have fallen away one way or the other, restore your fellowship immediately with the father by repenting from your sins.

There is no better refuge than the shadow of the Most High
