Mathew 7:24-25

24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.

In October 1871 Spafford a successful businessman lost all he had to the great Chicago fire, on November 22, 1873, two years after the great fire tragedy, his wife and daughters were involved in a shipwreck that claimed the lives of all his daughters. His wife Anna survived the accident, upon arriving in England, she sent a telegram to Spafford which reads “Saved alone”. Upon receiving Anna’s telegram, Spafford wrote the song “It is well with my soul”.

Mid 2019 i observed on the streets of Dubai a slogan “Expo 2020”. Expo 2020 promised lots of great advancements in technology for Dubai and many other nations, little did they know COVID-19 would arise to distort their plans.

The world we live in is full of so many uncertainties, nothing is certain to exist tomorrow but the word of God. Mathew 7:24-25 tells us of a man who built his house on a sure foundation, the rains came, streams rose and the wind blew but the house remained firm. Spafford, though he was faced with an unfortunate situation testified “It is well with my soul” because his foundation was never broken. Though his heart was pierced by the pains of his loss, he recognized the hope beyond this realm.

Dear friend, there is a realm greater than this realm, there is a journey every man must take, there is an existence more real than this. Let no man deceive you, there is life after death and Jesus is the only way to secure eternal life with God.

The treasures of this world are for a little while, it fades away like dew leaving those who hope on them hopeless, but the promises of eternal life in Jesus are everlasting, even death cannot deprive us of them.

Jesus is ready to save you today only if you will invite him. To invite Jesus, simply say this prayer: Lord Jesus, i thank you for your death and resurrection. I confess i am a sinner and need the everlasting life you give, come into my life and be the God of my life. Today i confess you as my Lord and savior, help me to know you more and work according to your will for my life. Amen.
