Matthew 6:12
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
On the 23rd of August 2018 we shared a devotion titled Unforgiveness. As I waited upon the Lord for today’s devotion, He led in my heart to speak a little more about Unforgiveness.
God is always willing to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. But this same God has instructed us to forgive men in other for Him to forgive our sins. Hold this strongly, “You cannot nurture unforgiveness and expect God to forgive your sins” No matter what a man has done to you God expects you to forgive so you can be forgiven.
In Matthew 18:22 Jesus emphasizes how important forgiveness is by saying we must forgive at all times even if someone wrongs us over and over. You need Gods forgiveness to make it into heaven, for this reason, You must forgive that brother/sister.
Forgiveness might be difficult, but it is possible. God showed a great example of forgiveness when we rebelled against Him in the garden of Eden by sacrificing His son so we can be saved.
If you have difficulty forgiving anyone ask the Holy Spirit to help you. It might seem impossible for you to forgive that person but open up to the Holy Spirit, He will guide you through forgiving that person.
If you must be forgiven, unforgiveness must be taken away from you
