You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
The Lord promised Abraham an assured blessing because of the faith he demonstrated when asked to sacrifice his only son (Genesis 22:16 – 17). No matter what happened to Abraham, the promises of God still followed him. Twice the devil tried to destroy the promise made to Abraham. First Abraham denied his wife in a bid to protect his life, secondly his wife advised him to go into her maid in other to get a successor. Despite all these, God still protected the promise of a seed.
Though the fulfillment of the promise took time, though the road was tough, It sometimes might have appeared to Abraham and his wife God was far; little did they know a table was prepared for them in the presence of their enemies. God used all his experience in accomplishing the promise.
As long as our faith in Christ Jesus remains, your situation is a table of honor in the presence of your enemies. The devil may think that situation is pulling you away from accomplishing God’s plan for your life. Beloved, hold on to God, rest on Jesus for it is a table in the presence of your enemies. Your head is anointed and your cup overflows.
A Poem “Hold on to Jesus” goes like this:
Hold on to Jesus,
never let go,
never let go for he is not done yet
Never let go, for he is the master planner
The devil may think he’s got it
Never let go, for your life journey is a mystery…
Never let go
Your beauty will soon be unveiled as a bride
If the devil knew Jesus’s death would give freedom to mankind, he would have tried to prevent him from dying… Jesus’s life and death was a mystery to the devil. So is your life. Your present situation (as long as you are in Christ) is set to show forth God’s glory
