Mercies of the Lord

Lamentations 3: 22

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

One of the privileges we enjoy daily as children of God is his unfailingly mercies. Mercies that are new every morning. The fathers mercies upon us his children are everlasting. As a father, God does not hold things against us. whenever he forgives, he forgets totally. Because of his mercies, we appear before him as spotless, having no trace of sin.

God taught us what mercy is through his son Jesus. When Jesus was about to be killed, he cried out to God for mercy on those inflicting pain on him. Today, God still has mercy on us. In fact, he refreshes his mercies every morning just for our sake.

One of the devils scheme to push you away from God is to make you believe you are too bad to receive Gods’ mercy. The devil does this by explaining to you the gravity and frequency of your sin.

My dear, do not let the devil deceive you, you are not a slave, nor an illegitimate child. You are a legitimate child of God bought by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. You must learn how to immediately run to the father asking for mercy when you disappoint him by falling.

Jesus spoke about the parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15: 11 – 32. Though the prodigal son sinned against his father, he never stopped being a legitimate son. As long as the prodigal son persisted in his sin without asking for mercy, he was separated from his father (things went bad for him, he lost access to the abundance in his fathers kingdom). The day he came to his senses and remembered how great his fathers house was, he went to his father for mercy. And his position in the family was restored.

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

Whatever your sin may be, however big it may seem in your eyes, go boldly to the throne of grace, you will definitely find mercy. For the mercies of the lord are new and sufficient for you.

Remember, God has invested a lot on you. He has given you spiritual and physical blessings to represent him well here on earth. He expects you as a child to express your love for him by living a Holy life (Saying no to sin). It bleeds the heart of God when we fall into sin. It bleeds his heart more when we do not run to him for mercies when we fall. Never give chance to the devil. Always confess your sins to the Lord.
