For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
God is not as interested in blessing you as He is for your life to reflect His will. In your desire, thinking or action, it is God’s perfect will for His children to grow into thinking, desiring or acting like Him. For this reason, He has given us the Holy Spirit who teaches us in love the will of God in every matter.
How do you respond to the will of God? Have you encountered verses in the bible addressing a situation, but you still insist on disobedience?
Last week I was in a bible study with some group of believers when a brother asked why we (Christians) deliberately avoid some instructions in the bible. For example, he said “The instruction regarding women putting on the cloths of men”. Thinking about this, I discovered even instructions regarding a woman’s attitude in the church are clearly ignored “Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence (1 Timothy 2:11-14).
Brethren, your way of life might keep on changing, but God’s word never changes. The truth of the word of God is not dependent on the number or caliber (reputation) of people obeying it, Gods word from generation to generation will never change.
My desire is not to be particular about women, but to expose the devices of Satan and see people (men and women) do the will of the father.
My response to the brother’s observation was God’s will is God’s will and must be totally obeyed. We won’t address issues concerning how a woman should dress today. However, I will like to draw the attention of men and women to the destructive scheme of the devil to us believers.
Isaiah 3:16 clearly says what God detests about the women of Zion and Isaiah 3:24 speaks of Gods punishment as a result of their ways: The LORD says, “The women of Zion are haughty, walking along with outstretched necks, flirting with their eyes, strutting along with swaying hips, with ornaments jingling on their ankles. (Isaiah3:16).
Instead of fragrance, there will be a stench; instead of a sash, a rope; instead of well-dressed hair, baldness; instead of fine clothing, sackcloth; instead of beauty, branding. (Isaiah 3:24)
Brethren the words of God to the prophet Isaiah are for us today. God’s word are meant to save us and not destroy us. Search yourselves soberly and allow your will to be lost in God’s will.
God bless you!
