17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
In life, the bigger the challenge/obstacle/problem, the mightier the miracle. Looking at the story of the three Hebrew boys, God could have stepped in at the point the law was being made for everyone to bow before the idol. He didn’t so as to glorify His name through their lives.
One important thing to note is the stand of the three Hebrew boys. They said, we are confident our God can deliver us from the fire but if He doesn’t, we won’t still bow before your god. This is a pronounce of total faith in God’s power and also a dedication/surrendering of their lives to God. This act of faith gave birth to a great miracle.
As Christians, let’s always put our full faith in God till the very end in all things. They could have decided to bow before the idol at the point the king commanded that they be thrown into fire but they were ready to die for their faith. They trust the mighty power of God. In conclusion, let’s always remember that our lives are a gift from God and live it for Him daily.
