4 As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. 5 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
6 After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. 7 “Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam” (this word means “Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.
Growing up in an African family, I understood the importance sunlight plays at work. No matter how skilled you are, you can do little to nothing without light. Isaiah 60:2 says “See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you.” Darkness covers the earth but Jesus became the light of the world; revealing salvation to the world. Jesus said, as long as it is day I must do the will of the father.
The will of the Father (God) is to set captives free from sin (impending death). John 3:16 says “16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Dear friend, Jesus is the light of the world sent to set you free from death. You see, death has power to hold down common men, but Jesus came to give us power over death such that even if you die physically, you will live eternally with Him in glory.
Time to accept His salvation is now, for He said “Night is coming when no one can work. 5 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” Jesus is still present today through His Holy Spirit convicting men of the need to repent of their sins and hand over their lives to God. If you hear this word today, do not harden your heart. Allow Jesus save you now!
You can pray this prayer to surrender your life to Jesus
Lord Jesus, i acknowledge you are the light of the world sent to set men free from sins. I confess my sins to you today and declare aloud “I need you Jesus”. Come into my heart Lord, be the God of my life and transform me. Thank you, Lord, for you promise to receive whoever comes to you. Amen
