Luke 2:9 – 11
9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
“Good news that will cause great Joy has appeared to the world”. The birth of Jesus was not only meant to give his immediate parents joy, but to give joy to the whole world. The birth of Jesus marked the beginning of the salvation of man. Unlike any other child, his birth attracted the most influential and most poorest of all men. The birth of this baby caused a total transformation in the lives of people who knew him and understood his mission. Their lives were changed, they became excited such that they could not stay any longer without visiting the child.
If we understand the reason for the birth of Jesus and his assignment on earth, we will understand why people who know him are full of joy and inner peace. Jesus is still the reason for Joy on earth. To experience this everlasting Joy, you need to know who Jesus is and his assignment on earth.
If you do not understand the person of Jesus, if you are confused about his life and his character, any book of the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) will unveil his nature and mission on earth.
Jesus is always willing to be your friend. He is ever ready to begin a life changing work with you. Why not have an open heart towards him and ask him to make you understand who he is and why he really came to the world.
Lord Jesus, i have heard about you, i really want to know you more, to experience the everlasting Joy you give. Reveal yourself to me and help my weak heart understand why you had to come and die for my sins. Amen
