Text: Exodus 6: 2-3.
And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD: 3. And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.
After Moses had encountered God in the burning Bush, in Exodus 3, God sent Moses to Pharaoh as I AM (Exodus 3:14). In Exodus 4, the Lord gave miraculous signs to Moses, and instructed him to display the signs to Pharaoh.
When Moses confronted Pharaoh in Exodus 5, Pharaoh did not listen, instead he increased the suffering and labor of God’s children. In verse 22-23 of Exodus 5, Moses returned unto the Lord, with pain and a bitter countenance, after Pharaoh had increased the labor of Israel.
God was moved with anger.
One can conclude it was God’s first plan to handle Pharaoh as the God Almighty, but after Pharaoh had mocked Him by increasing the labor of Israel, God had to fully reveal and introduce Himself to Moses in another way as JEHOVAH.
I want us to understand that at first the Lord said to Moses, I AM has sent you but Moses had little knowledge of the Lord.
I AM is an open book to the limitless power and identity of our God. Moses presented God to Pharaoh at first as “The God of the Hebrews” (Exodus 5:3). In order words, Moses told Pharaoh “I AM the God of Hebrews has sent me”.
The name never sounded serious to Pharaoh. But when Moses came by the name JEHOVAH, the Lord showed in many majestic ways until the point where He parted the sea. And hitherto, JEHOVAH has never lost a battle or the efficacy of His name.
I prophesy against every power that has defiled your faith, by the same name JEHOVAH I stand and declare; those powers will be completely destroyed before the end of this month in Jesus Christ name.
JEHOVAH means (I AM the eternal living one).
A supreme being that exists forever.
In order words, God revealed to Moses that He is not just the God of the Hebrews alone, but the God of all flesh. The Greatest and most supreme God that lives forever.
The God with no predecessor nor successor.
What are those battles that have wearied your human effort?
Today, JEHOVAH will intervene.
JEHOVAH will do to your adversaries, the same He did to Pharoah in Jesus name.
JEHOVAH will fight for You and you shall hold your peace.
O Lord Fight my battles and give me victory in every areas of my life.
I destroy every power that has stood as a Pharaoh against my life and family in Jesus name.
