John 19:30. When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
The Bible recorded in Matthew that, when Jesus gave up His spirit, the veil in the temple rented from top to bottom. It is amazing to know that this happened after He said it is finished. The Greek word Jesus said on the cross is actually “tetelestai” which means “paid in full”.
One great truth is that this saying of Jesus is not limited to any aspect of a Christian’s life. The veil in the temple was rented from top to bottom so that we can have unlimited (not just full) access to the grace of God. That is, even if you find yourself fall out of Grace, you can still come back in.
God told Abraham that as far as you can see is what I will give to you and your descendants. As believers, as far as we can explore the holy of holies, as much as we can tap into the grace available, as great as we desire is how we can apply the finished work of Jesus on the cross to our lives. Happy Easter.
