Text: Luke 15: 32. It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

The worst that can happen to a man, is to be blind spiritually.
A blind man is unaware of the happening in his environment.
Even at the sound of war or danger, he is set for a doom because of his affliction.
Many called believers in the Church are blind.
They don’t even understand the word they hear, the Times and season of their faith.
Many believers are like the blind that walks into a fire, ignoring the road signs of the fire.

Heaven and Hell are real, and no man walks into any by mistake or by chance but by choice.
Ignoring the call to repentance and righteous living is a sign of spiritual blindness.
Jesus Christ was sent by God into the world, to lead us unto the path of life.
In the beginning was Jesus the light of the World that was sent into darkness. John 1:4-5.
He died and rose again, standing as a bridge that leads us to life.
A walk in this world without Jesus in truth and in Spirit is a walk in total darkness and blindness.
In Jesus’ words, He said; John 8: 12. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

The reality of darkness is that things are hidden from us and keeps us in total blindness but when the light is revealed, every hidden thing is revealed.
A parable was told by the Lord of a rich man who had 2 sons, and the younger one demanded of His inheritance from the father, got his portion, and went into a distant land. Lavished his money and time on worldly pleasures. Luke 15:11-14.
And when he had spent all he had, he was forced to serve as a hired servant in that strange land.
Until the day he asked himself a question,
Luke 15: 17. And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
Glory to God, he repented and the father forgave him again.
He was once blind but later regained his sight.

This same parable is clearly seen in our society today amongst believers.
We have God who has everything in His possession.
Now imagine, as the redeemed of God, joint heirs with the son of God (Romans 8:17), in the majesty of God’s Glory, now stoop so low to a dirty lifestyle.
Just like that prodigal son, many believers have journeyed far away from the Lord into a distant land.
Many believers wallow in sin, like that prodigal son, blinded by sin, and live carelessly.
Jesus in His word said; John 8: 34. Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

35. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
You become a slave to what has taken control of your life.
Just like that prodigal son, imagine the son of a King, serving as a hired servant who feeds swine and dines with swine. Luke 15:15-16.
While back in his father’s house are many mansions. John 14:2.

Have you wandered away from the Lord who saved and called you out of darkness?
Are you now under the command of sin?
Rise up!
Look back at what your Heavenly Father has for you.
Look back to the endless beautiful and amazing promises of God just like that prodigal son did in Luke 15:17.
Decide to return back to God today in all sincerity of heart and complete surrender.
Decide to serve sin and the devil no more.
I tell you the truth, as you turn back to God and turn your back at the devil and sin today, God will just be on that same spot where you left Him, waiting with an open hand to hug you, love you, welcome you and show you His love more than ever before.
Luke 15: 20. And he arose and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

Isn’t it beautiful that we have a Father who is always there to clean up our mess and give us a fresh start?

Just like the blind man in John9:25 testified after the restoration of his sight, “I was blind but now, I see”.
Say these prayers to welcome JesusChrist into your life.
Lord Jesus!
I acknowledge I am a sinner for my sins are not hidden before you.
I confess all of my sins to you this day.
I believe you died on the cross and rose again to set me free.
And I confess you this day as the Lord and personal savior of my life.
I denounce the devil and every work of the flesh.
Wash me with your blood Lord Jesus. Thank You for saving me.
