I am the first

I am the first

Mark 9:33-35

33 They came to Capernaum. When he was in the house, he asked them, “What were you arguing about on the road?” 34 But they kept quiet because on the way they had argued about who was the greatest.

35 Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.”

No doubt Jesus’s words to the disciples are still applicable to us today. Who really are you? How do you see yourself? Jesus has called us into a sacrificial life, He showed us an example of how to live by laying down His life for us.

Whatever position you have, in church or at work, your mind must be renewed like that of a child. Pride, arrogance, self-consciousness, and greed must give way.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13).

What should you boast about? why consider yourself bigger than your brother? Was the blood of the king of kings not shed for mere men like us?

If you should boast, boast in the sacrifice of Jesus for Him alone deserve all Honor, glory, power, and worship.
