God Smiled

Genesis 1:31

God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day

I remember trying so hard to make a program perform a certain function. After days of coding and recoding, I finally got the solution and the program began to work just as perfect as I had desired in my heart. Looking at my software work how I had intended left an obvious wide smile on my face. As I watched and admired my “handiwork”, I imagined the smile that must have filled Gods face when he saw the birds flying, seas flowing, the breeze whistling, animals making different wonderful sounds, man walking in the garden, etc. His handiwork was beautiful and gave him much Joy. The bible said, “God saw all that he had made, and it was very good“.

All He had made pleased him until man went away from His original plan by disobeying Gods command. If I was God, I would immediately destroy the malfunctioning part and begin creation of a new one. God, however, decided to restore man to His original plan by sending Jesus. The bible says in John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” His son is the solution to our restoration, accepting Gods son restores us back to Gods original plan thereby making God smile again (Luke 15:7 “I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent“).

Unfortunately today, many people are still a source of pain to God as they persist in trading on paths that are not in His original plan. If you have not accepted Jesus as Lord over your life, you are separated from benefiting from Gods glory and are a source of pain to God (Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God“).

God does not want you to perish (Matthew 18:14 “In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish“) He wants you to be restored back to Himself. Do not let your too much “knowledge” lead you astray for the god of this world who deceived the first man into sinning against God with the offer of becoming like God (having the knowledge of good and evil) blinds the minds of unbelievers from seeing the light.

Be restored back to God today, say this prayer surrendering to Jesus.

“Dear God, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.”
