But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble. (James 4:6)
Fasting is a way of humbling yourself to be exalted by God. Pride goes before a fall. Saul, the first king of Israel began humble, but as he went on pride crept in and caused his destruction. There is a need for us to always humble ourselves and ask God daily for a humble spirit. Humility does not mean you are weak, but it only attests to the power of God in your life. Humility is lifting Jesus up!
Prayer: Lord, you are above all, I am just an instrument in your hand, I pray that you help me to be humble at all times, may I not end in pride like Saul rather help me to always seek you and humble myself before you. Amen
