When David was running away from Saul, he prayed telling God to hide him and not let his enemies overtake him. God protected David from Saul and upheld his prayers. A time came when Saul fell into the hands of David, but instead of David capitalizing on that, he rather showed mercy saying “I cannot stretch forth my hand against God’s anointed”. As David did this, God fought for him and gave him victory over Saul.
Even as God keeps protecting us from our enemies, may we always choose to forgive and hand the battle over to God.
Father, we thank you for protecting us from the wickedness of our enemies, we pray just as you did for David, you will fight our battles even as we choose to forgive our enemies. Amen
