By faith, Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith, he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead. 5 By faith Enoch was taken from this life so that he did not experience death: “He could not be found, because God had taken him away.”[a] For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.
Faith is key to pleasing God. “And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6).
How do you serve what you do not believe in? It is when you believe in God and know that He sees and rewards your service that you can give Him all you have.
Abraham never knew God, but he listened to the call of God to leave his fathers’ house to an unknown land. Though he never saw God, he believed God was with him and was able to help him.
Today, we have heard how God revealed himself through His son Jesus and offered salvation to all who believe in Him. Do you believe? Do you have faith in the finished work of God through Jesus?
Your faith in Jesus will help you in serving Him.
