Divine Grace

Matthew 15: 21 – 28

21 Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. 22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.”

23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”

24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”

25 The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said.

26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”

27 “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”

28 Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.

It was a hot afternoon, my father and I had just received a piece of troubling news that my elder sister had been involved in an accident. We did not know much to do than to pray and journey towards the accident scene. Though It was only 3 hours drive from home, it seemed like we had been on the road for 8 hours. We were greatly troubled and needed a miracle of protection from God… Even though we knew the accident was severe we knew God can still make a difference. Reaching the hospital where they were taken to we saw victims of the crash deeply injured, I asked for my sister and just before I finished asking a saw her running towards us. God had made a difference and has kept her from even a scratch. Glory to God!

Jesus speaking to the Canaanite woman told her bread is meant for children and not dogs. This is true as the woman was not yet grafted in as a child at that time. Thanks be to God who after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ made as many as those who believe (Canaanites, Jews and all gentiles) sons.

Despite the former classification of this woman, she understood how a little (anything) from Jesus can cause a great turnaround to her situation. Irrespective of the way she was classified, she pressed on! I because she had a revelation of who Jesus is. A revelation that was at that time, even in this time rare to many. Divine grace had found her, though she was not a Jew. Divine grace carved her in!

Dear friend, it is because of Gods’ divine grace you hear about Jesus today. Do not harden your heart when you hear about Him. God prepares an appointed time for all He loves to receive from Jesus. Many miss this time because of too much knowledge. Forget your pride, previous ideas, or religion/sect, ask the true God to reveal Himself to you.

It would not cost you much to do it, but not doing it might cost you eternity

Say this if you sincerely want God to reveal Himself to you. Lord Jesus, the works of your hand are wonderful. I believe you can reveal yourself to me. Please help my unbelief and explain to me why it has to be you.

If you prayed this prayer, also promise to serve Jesus as He reveals Himself to you. Please send us an email ([email protected]) to pray along with you. God bless you

Remember the death and resurrection of Jesus made all who believe in Him sons and no more dogs
