Temptations versus Opportunities: The fight for your sight

Critical Thinking and Knowledge

if your critical thinking has not made you appropriate Christ in your life, then your decision-making takes a great wrong route. This is because critical thinking is a logical study of decision-making techniques and the enhancement of judgment-skill.

In today’s knowledge-driven world, the advantage lies with those who can think critically and keep improving knowledge. The Bible puts it succinctly “In the last days knowledge will abound.” Yes, critical thinking helps one to develop one’s analytical skills so that one can evaluate data given to one and interpret it in the most optimal way. This helps in errors-minimizing and taking correct decisions quickly in critical situations.

The question I pose to all who read this is how has your knowledge developed? Where does your critical thinking lead you spiritually? What decision have you made after critically examining the assertion that Jesus is Lord, and that without Him the world is lost?

Now, if your critical thinking has not made you appropriate Christ in your life, then your decision-making takes a great wrong route. This is because critical thinking is a logical study of decision-making techniques and the enhancement of judgment-skill. It is not only about the way we think and analyze facts, but also how we use those facts to decide upon a course of action and act upon them. Action is an important step of critical reasoning, as the entire concept of critical reasoning revolves around acting of solid, irrefutable evidence.

Now, you can use your critical reasoning skills to analyze the biblical concept of salvation, especially as it regards the only means to meet God. If you claim to have critical thinking skills and it leads you to neglect the destiny of your soul, then your critical thinking becomes misrouted reasoning. Note: the destiny of your soul should determine the routes of your thinking and reasoning. Anyone who allows someone else to think for him in this issue has not only cheated himself, he has also embraced misrouted reasoning. Think about it. Christ is the only way to God; every other way leads to a dead-end and total severing from God. Make Christ the basis of your thinking and reasoning.

God bless you as you do so!
