Text: Matthew 7: 16. By their fruit, you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?
A true believer and follower of Christ Jesus is identified only by the fruit he displays.
Many miracles seeking believers in our generation has fallen victim of deceit and all sorts of spiritual and physical manipulation in the hands of wolves preachers in sheep clothing as they went in pursuit of gifts instead of fruit.
It is only the fruit of God in the life of a man that sets him apart as a true child of God.
The Bible tells us that no man picks grapes from a garden of thorns or figs from thistles.
Meaning that no man claiming to be in Christ carries the fruit of the flesh.
When you see a mango fruit, without research You can easily conclude that a mango seed had produced the fruit.
God wants us to bear good spiritual fruits.
In Acts 4:13, as the council saw the boldness and fruits of Peter and John, they confirmed that these ones have been with Christ and there was no more need for doubt.
Most believers even the way they dress and the attitude they display, you doubt their salvation.
The fruit is the outward actions and lifestyle of a man.
The fruit of the spirit is the character and personality of Christ Jesus.
Do you desire to be like Christ?
Have you for so long desire to live like Christ?
The foundational key is found in the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
A believer who has refused to follow the ways of God will live after the flesh and the works of the flesh are; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings. Galatians 5:19-21
And they that do such things will never inherit the kingdom of God.
Are you a true believer and follower of Christ?
Now take a self-examination on your life, see how unfaithful you have been to God and repent if any of this work is still found in you.
What is the fruit of the Holy Spirit when we abide in Christ Jesus?
Galatians 5:22-23 tells us thus; love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance.
The Holy Spirit gives us a single fruit and the content of this fruit, produces 9 nutrients that identify you as a Christian.
When we abide in Christ our vine, as branches that we are, the vine becomes our source of bearing good fruits. (John 15:1-5).
I must say that the fruit of the Holy Spirit builds gradually in us. It can be likened to the same way a tree takes time to produce a branch, leaves, and fruits.
So when we decide to walk with the Lord and abide by His words, His Spirit gradually finds expression in us and through us.
The word of God comes to correct, amend, encourage, build and most times redirect our steps.
Therefore God has not come to condemn us from our devotion today, rather He has come to help us have living and everlasting relationship with Him.
Take a decision today to begin a new walk of righteousness with Christ Jesus.
Say yes to the Lord today and He will help all your weaknesses.
Our life as believers must Glorify God and draw men to God.
Do not live a life that will cause another man to fall from the faith.

2. Psalm 139: 23. Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
