Burying Our Will in God’s Will Gives Us Spiritual Victory

DevotionsBurying Our Will in God's Will Gives Us Spiritual Victory

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

🎚️To be over-comers, we must bury our wills in God’s will. Paul learned the secret.

🎚️He admonishes us to maintain God´s perspective on the ups and downs of life and access His power.

🎚️He was firmly convinced that having the person of the Holy Spirit living in him meant that God´s power was available to him.

🎚️ We, too, can learn to be at peace while the storms of life rage around us. To do so, we must follow the following steps:

👉The first step is to believe that the power of God is within us through the presence of His Spirit.

👉The second step is we must accept that God´s priority for us is transformation into Christ´s image, and not necessarily comfortable circumstances. Modern Christianity hammers on comfortable circumstances to the detriment of their relationship with God.
Meanwhile, none of Jesus’ disciples made comfortable circumstances his priority. Where did the preaching of comfortability on earth come from? Obviously, not from the Bible.

👉Third step is diligently seeking to maintain Jesus´ perspective on trials (John 16:33).

🎚️Until we settle such matters of faith, true contentment will evade us. Do not be deceived; what people derive from their extra-biblical exhibitionism is not true contentment. *True contentment is only found in obeying God and doing His will.

🎚️Having embraced these truths, we can learn to use the divine power of the risen Christ.

🎚️The key lies in submitting our will to His. Then, instead of reacting to life-based on our own weaknesses and desires, we will switch to responding on the basis of God´s will and the fact that we belong to Christ. We will be able to consciously surrender ourselves to the Lord and His pattern for living.

🎚️It is preponderant to know that yielding control to the Holy Spirit allows God´s will to be done and enables us to accept it. Any moment we can say, ´Lord, let my will be buried in yours,’ then we will experience the inner peace promised us. (See John 14:27.)

🎚️Now note: Divine perspective, surrender, and firm faith are the ingredients for a victorious life. Now you know the secret; practice it because Christ’s Second Advent is sooner than it used to be.

Shalom and Maranatha!
