Beware of the tempter

DevotionsBeware of the tempter

Text: James 1: 13. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14. But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
16. Do not err, my beloved brethren.

Temptation is not of God, but God will never allow us to suffer more than we bear. 1Corinthians 10:13.
In other words, Satan is not permitted to tempt you more than you can bear.
Satan and his agents work by information, he takes advantage of every information, to fight and pull down a believer.
The tempter has come with various strategies and device to fulfill his three-point agenda of stealing, killing and destroying.

He steals men off God’s plan and path, enticing and tempting them according to the lust of their own flesh.
Kills their passion for God, kills their passion for righteousness by replacing it with a passion for worldly pleasure, power, and fame.
Finally, destroy their soul in hell and eternal damnation.
Beloved, Satan will tempt you only with what your heart craves for.
Satan will bait you with only what you have pleasure for.
If you’re yet to overcome lust, for instance, the devil will prepare the type of activity that your flesh longs for and tempt you.

It pleases God that we’re consumed by nothing else except His love alone.
When a man is upright in his way before God, the tempter will have nothing to accuse you of.
Speaking about Daniel, when the tempter sought for a possible way to bait him and lure him into sin, it was impossible because all Daniel sought for was God and his righteousness. Daniel 6:4
Even though the tempter went ahead to fight Daniel’s faith, it was a lost battle because any battle that concerns our faith is the Lord’s Battle. Read the whole of Daniel 6.

Be upright in your faith.
Stand up and keep the fight of your faith.
A true spiritual soldier is dead to every activity of flesh and alive in the spirit.
Watch and pray.
