Text: Matthew 9: 16.
No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse. 17. Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
We must understand today that the salvation of God has redeemed us, translated us from darkness into God’s marvelous light.
In today’s devotion, we must understand the true meaning of salvation for whoever the son sets free, is free indeed. (John 8:36).
You are completely separated from darkness.
You’re a new creation in Christ Jesus.
Therefore, you must hate and run from sin and every works of the devil.
You must run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts. (2 Timothy 2:22).
What are the things you were saved from?
Run from everything that stimulates them.
Evil communication can corrupt good manners, run from it.
Dirty romantic movies and talks can stimulate sexual hunger, fornication, masturbation, lust, run from it.
The enemy will not come announcing his arrival, he creeps in like a gentle lamb and when you entertain him, he jumps at you and maul you like a hungry lion.
Therefore we must be sensitive.
Maintain Godly relationship.
Study and meditate on God’s word and promises daily.
Never despise the fellowship of God’s people. (For we draw strength when we fellowship together with other brethren).
Remember you are now a new wine in a new wine skin. And no man puts new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.
Let the love and refreshing power of the Holy Spirit feed you daily with new ideas and counsels.
May God bless you and give you the Grace and nutrient you need, to work out your salvation.
