gave in to fear, self-pity and a little bit of pride as seen in his expression, “I have been very zealous for
the LORD God Almighty” v14, as if God did not know. The expression “why me?” which often
accompanies people today when they suffer brings with it, fear, self-pity and pride. God does not like
any of those.
To put matters in their right perspective, God told Elijah that He had on reserve, seven

When such moments come, know that you are not the only one left – God has many more who are
passing through what you are passing through. Take shelter in God this day and let God take glory from
Question: If not you, who?
Prayer: Give me grace to stand, LORD. I need it, Amen.
