Text 1: John 1:1, In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Text 2: John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Notice the bold words in our texts above. The “word” was from the beginning, that word became flesh and dwelt with us. Jesus is the word that was made flesh. In Luke 1:30 the angel of the Lord appeared to Mary giving her the good news of the coming of Jesus. Using Mary as a vessel, the word became flesh and we beheld him in the person of Jesus. History has proven beyond doubts that a man named Jesus once lived amongst us. The big question is: Why did he come? In John 10:10 Jesus spoke to the people telling them “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that you may have life, and have it to the full”. Based on Jesus’s statement, we discover there is a thief who’s duty is to kill, steal and destroy but Jesus has come to deliver us from that thief (The Enemy).

Who is this thief?

When man was formed, he had the gift of staying in God’s presence, man was immortal, man heard God and fellowshipped with God. The thief came and stole that gift away from man by deceiving man into sinning against God. Because God is Holy and could not behold sin, man lost the gift of fellowship with God and was driven out of God’s presence.

Because of God’s love for man, Jesus had to humble himself to come as the sacrifice of God, in human form to restore man back to God. This is the reason for Jesus’s coming: To rescue men back to God.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

To be a part of this saved people is to believe in Jesus, and confess him with your mouth as Lord over your life.

If you choose to confess Jesus as Lord over your life, please say this prayer:

Lord Jesus, I thank you for coming into the world in other to restore me back to God, I believe your assignment here on earth was to restore me back to God. I give you my all this day, lead me to the father. I declare today that you are Lord over my life. Help me to serve you from today and forevermore. Amen!
