Text: 1 Corinthians 10: 23. All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
That people are doing it, is not an excuse to do it.
Many people spend time and resources on activities that profit nothing.
What others might see pleasing might not be what God would want you to do.
All things can be lawful, smoking can be lawful, but of what profit is it?
Fornication might be lawful and legal practice in the land, but of what profit is it?
Shall we chase pleasures with no gain?
If you’re asked to talk about it, how can you joyfully speak of it?
Beloved, God wants us to seek after proven things, things that are of good report, good profit, and good name.
That the whole world did it doesn’t make it right, what matters is what God has said about it.
As God’s children, whatever God’s word condemns must not be seen around us.
If God hates sin and warns us to be aware of all sin stimuli, then we ought to hate sin and flee from all her stimulus.
For the beginning of that path might seem right and good, but the end a death trap.
The end of smoking is always death and serious liver and internal affliction.
Beloved, go for things of great results.
Be mindful of mindless and fruitless activities that profits nothing.
Embrace God, delight in His word, and your paths shall be lighted and directed.
