Text: Genesis 1: 4. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

Even before the creation of man, God himself saw a great need to separate light from darkness.
It’ll be pointless trying to compare light and darkness.
The activities at both opportunity clearly reveal that light has a superior advantage over darkness.
If you’re in Christ Jesus, you’re a child of light.
No man who walks uprightly hides his activity, for there’s no darkness in light.
The Bible tells us that once we were in darkness, living to satisfy our flesh but when Jesus Christ came into our lives, He brought us out of darkness into His marvelous light to show forth His majesty.
1 Peter 2: 9. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

10. Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Understand that as a new creation in Christ, God expects us to shine our light before men, that God may be Glorified.
Matthew 5: 16. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Jesus is the light of men that was revealed for a perfect walk in this dark world unto eternity. John 8:12.
In  Christ is life and His life gave light to His own. And the light will shine beyond the understanding of every work of Satan. John 1:4-5.
Beloved, once you were in darkness and clearly portrayed the activities of darkness. Now as children of light, God expects us to shine His light by our attitude, our words, our nature at all times in anywhere we find ourselves.
When the light of God comes in a place, there’s no hiding place to sickness, lies, hatred, and all manner of sin and works of darkness.

An evangelical fairy-tale like story is told of a people who communicated to the sun that there was a city where darkness was hiding and when the sun came to the suppose dark city, he asked where is the darkness?
Why? Because when light shines, the trace of darkness disappears.
When light shines, every hidden thing and everything that was done in the secret is revealed.
The light I am talking about shines with power, with revelation, with authority, with boldness.
When we decide to shine forth the personality that now lives in us, we shall see His manifestation.
Now imagine how bright, peaceful, beautiful, loving our world be when all children of God shine their light.

Remember these words.
The light of God (kingdom of God), can be likened as a man who found a treasure in a land, hides it again, goes back home and sold all he had to be able to buy the land. Matthew 13:44.
Again, remember that no man lights up a candle and hides it under a bushel. Matthew 5:15.
If you have really encountered the light of God the evidence is undeniable, the joy is unexplainable, the outcome is unquantifiable, it is clear.
Shine your light today and let all the works of darkness in your life, your family, your community dissipate.

Shalom.
