Text: Numbers 21: 9. And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.
Sin has always fought God’s plan right from the beginning.
As God is set to align man to His path and Will, so is the devil fighting to draw man out of God’s love by various devices.
Imagine after God had brought the Israelites of out captivity for many years, yet at each opportunity, they still rebelled and sinned against God.
In one of their rebellion, the Lord angrily sent a serpent to judge them.
After many had died, the others sought for Moses to make atonement for their sins.
From our anchor text, Moses made a replica of the same snake with brass and only those who beheld the serpent that was hung up on a pole would live.
Do you know that God is merciful, in a bid to save mankind from death, Jesus came to the world, in the replica of our human nature, He passed through what we go through daily, the curses, the brutality, the hatred, the shame, the temptation, but yet He overcame, took the nails on the cross, took a criminal death penalty, and on that cross He declared it was finished, the struggle and slavery of man to sin was finished.
He rose again on the third day as a living proof that those who were bitten by the serpent (sin) would live even unto eternity if they keep eyes on Him and the cross.
For ALL have sinned and fall short of God’s Glory the Bible declares.
Meaning that humanity born in the Adamic nature is of sin and deserves a death penalty. (Romans 3:23, 6:23).
Jesus took our death penalty to give us life now that is called Grace.
Today, don’t be among those who would refuse to look upon the serpent.
Don’t be like those who say in their heart, there is no God.
Jesus will save you, give you life.
In Him alone is life, and His life is the light of men. John 1:4.
By revelation I tell you the truth, only Jesus Christ saves, purifies, delivers, and gives eternal life.
My conviction is beyond the Holy book, it is a revelation that came through an intimate working and walking relationship with God.
Beloved, do not turn away from God.
Love unto Jesus for the remission of your sin.
Look unto Jesus for future of your Glory.
Look unto Jesus to live.
No matter the amount of bite you might have from the serpent, look unto Jesus Christ today and you shall live.
Tell Jesus how helpless and weak you have been without Him, tell Him to help you.
Invite Him to come into your life and be the Lord of your life.
Invite Him to wash you by His precious blood and give you life.
And as you do, your life will never be the same again.
John 3: 14. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15. That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
