Text 1: Matthew 8: 2. And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 3. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
Text 2: Lamentations 3: 22. It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed because his compassions fail not. 23. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
The Compassionate Father is our Lord Jesus Christ.
Right from the days of Jesus’ earthly ministry hitherto, it is known of a Him as a friend, a father, that goes about doing good.
Our God is filled with love and has great compassion for the poor, the needy, the sick, the oppressed.
He cares for you.
He loves you.
He is more than a friend to His own.
Oh! What a friend we have in Jesus a songwriter wrote.
As I studied the word of God about my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I discovered that He is just the same as the Bible says in Hebrews 13:8.
The way Jesus responded to people’s distress calls when they call and cry unto Him for help, is still the same way He does today.
A sincere and FAITHful relationship with the Lord will help us enjoy His loving, caring, friendly and fatherly nature.
I write from a personal encounter, “I have seen the Lord’s goodness, His mercies, and compassion”.
Our today’s Bible chapter takes us on a whole journey of the compassionate nature of our Lord Jesus Christ.
As Jesus came down from the mountain, a leper, who had suffered from pain, isolation, humiliation, and all sorts of oppression, came to Him and prayed saying “if He would be willing to cleanse him because he knew that He (Jesus) could.
And in reply, the compassionate Father said; “I will”. Matthew 8:2-3.
Beloved, if we can turn from our wicked and sinful ways and seek the Lord with all our heart, I tell you the truth, He will hear and heal our lives.
Again as the compassionate Father continued His journey, another man who was a centurion came to Him, over the afflicted servant who was at home and immediately, Jesus Christ the compassionate Father, promised to come on the intervention. Mathew 8:7.
Although the man’s faith, stopped the Lord from coming and the servant was healed (Matthew 8:8-13) but my attention has always been on the response of our loving Jesus to distress calls.
As He journey, He visited Peter and Peter’s wife’s mother was down with a fever, He touched her hand the Bible says and the fever left her. Matthew 8:14-15.
Again, in the evening, many that were possessed with devils were brought to Him, He cast out the spirits with His word and healed all that were sick. Matthew 8:16.
And many more He did. See Matthew 8:23-34.
Would you want to welcome Jesus Christ into your life today?
Everything written about Him is great and beautiful.
In His words, He promised never to cast you away if you come to Him. John 6:37
