11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
As born again Christians, we are not only seen as God’s children but also as a soldier of Christ.
For before we came to the knowledge and full salvation of Christ, we were once slave to sin and the devil. But by the salvation we now have in Christ Jesus, our old identity is gone and now, we have a new identity in Christ Jesus.
There’s a battle for the soul of a man.
There’s a battle we must fight as God’s children.
We are called as soldiers of Christ into a war against flesh, the works of sin and the source and center of all evil which is the “Devil and His agents”.
Therefore we must understand in today’s devotion our true spiritual identity and the keys of overcoming spiritual battles as soldiers of Christ.
As a true soldier of Christ, born of the water and Spirit, you must understand;
The Mission and Vision of our battle.
The Bible speaks of the 2 vision of the enemy which is to kill and destroy and a single mission in accomplishing the vision is by stealing. So the devil had come to steal, kill and destroy souls in hell but as true soldiers of Christ, we are here, To give “LIFE” not just to give life but giving “LIFE” in abundance.
And to accomplish this vision, God has made us His witnesses by the power of the Holy Spirit to restore lives that have been stole, lives marked for death and destruction through God’s word and power of His Spirit.
We must understand that though we walk on flesh, we do not war after the flesh. For our weapons of Warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. 2 Corinthians 10:3-4.
Again, Soldiers do not get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot please the officer who enlisted them. 2 Timothy 2:4 NLT.
In elaboration, no true spiritual soldier of Christ entangled or yokes himself in sin.
If God who is our superior officer is holy, then we must represent Him accordingly.
As true soldier of Christ, we’re to put on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
So you must put on;
1. The belt of truth. A Life Of truth and sincerity is what God demands from us. We must have our loins girt about with truth.
2. The breastplate of righteousness.
3. We must be ready to preach the Gospel that gives peace.
4. Our Faith is the greatest in this battle. For without faith, we cannot live. And a dormant faith will produce zero result. The shield of faith, stops all the lies, the fiery darts of the devil and his agents.
5. Our helmet of Salvation which is Christ Jesus. As we battle, we battle with the name of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 2:10).
6. The sword of the Spirit. Your Holy Bible.
7. And the atomic weapon which is prayer.
The battle we are called to fight, is the battle for our souls and the souls of men but we must be of good cheer for our father, “The Lord God of Heaven’s Armies” has overcome the world and assured us of victory. John 16:33.
God bless you as you take up your spiritual responsibility and position.
