Text Matthew 24:1-5
Jesus left the temple and was going away, when his disciples came to point out to him the buildings of the temple. But he answered them, “You see all these, do you not? Truly, I say to you, there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.” As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the close of the age?” And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray.
The whole world is experiencing a hard time with Wars, political crises, economic instability, corruption and so many other evil. As these evil increase, many men have devised ways of remaining alife. Many have discovered starting a church is profiting business, it brings wealth, luxury vehicles, worship from fellow men, fame, helps in acquiring slaves free of charge etc. Jesus refers to such church owners as people whom their bellies have become their gods, he also calls them wolves in sheep clothing.
Dear friend, see that no one leads you astray! The life of Jesus is a complete guide for our Christian life. Judge all spirits! Not everyone who calls the name of Jesus belongs to him, not everyone who prophecies is of God. Jesus had to make these warnings because he knows tougher times would come, he says “if these days are not shortened even the very elect would be deceived if possible”.
These false prophets are among us (in the church), for this reason, we must stand firm in knowing Jesus, we must have a personal relationship with him to finish the race well.
Dear friend, run from “Men of God” who do not lead you to Jesus but always try to prove their call as prophets/apostles etc, run from “men of God” who manipulate you with prophecies, not from God. Judge all prophecies! run from “Men of God” who implant fears in you. Prayerfully decern spirits through the lens of the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Every true believer must bear fruit, run from “men of God” who bear fruits other than the one written in Galatians 5:22-23. Run, run from “Men of God” full of pride! for pride is a clear evidence of the absence of the Holy Spirit.
A personal relationship with Jesus will guide you through these last days, desire to know Jesus more for he is ready to see you through.
Prayer: Lord Jesus open my eyes that I may see. Help me to know you more each day in other to withstand these last days. Amen
