Text: Acts 16:25-28

25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose. 27 The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. 28 But Paul shouted, “Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!”

Paul and Silas were put in prison while on a mission for God, despite the sufferings and humiliations they might have faced in the prison they never ceased worshiping God. Paul and Silas may not have known they would experience the prison that day, they might never have thought they would be flogged that day. But one thing they knew was they were ready to go any length for God. Their commitment to Gods work can be seen when the angel of the Lord set them free. They never ran away, rather they used the opportunity to show forth the glory of God. There is absolutely no doubt God knew what their action would be when he sets them free. God knew setting them free would bring glory to his name.

Dear friend, God wants to be glorified in every area of your life. It is his desire to deliver you from any unpleasant situation, not for you to take the glory or to miss use the opportunity he gives. His desire is to save you for his Glory. It is important we always put God first in every area of our lives. Gods glory must not be stolen by anyone or anything.

When you determine to give all the glory to God, everything becomes possible

Prayer: Father help me never to share your glory with any man or attribute my success to anything. May all Glory be given unto you. Amen.
