Text: Romans 12: 2.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Our mind is the central processing unit of our life.
The actions of every man on earth is birthed from the abundance of his mind.
When our minds are pure and spiritually sound, the results are edifying.
But when our minds are filled with evil thoughts, the negative actions are inevitable.

As believers, the escape root from conforming to the world and it’s pattern is by renewing our mind.
When our mind is renewed, we’ll be able to discern what is good for us and acceptable and perfect will of God.

A renewed mind understands that not every lifestyle, fashion, words, activities are meant for him as everything he encounters, is first weighed spiritually by the standard of God’s word.

Many believers are in captivity because of their mind.
Many are free but are yet to live in the power of their salvation because of their mindset is still in captivity.

Therefore in order to win the battle of the mind, we must;

1. Renew our mind by the word of God.
The word of God Was made flesh and dwells among men, so we can feel it, see it, live with it and experience the power behind it.
A believer that has failed to constantly feed on God’s word, will always battle with negativities and dirty thoughts in his mind.
We must keep a winning mindset to break loose of satanic captivity.
When the word of God has made you free, by the reason of your salvation, then know that you’re free and abstain from whatever that has the capacity of pulling you back into sin.

When we constantly renew our mind with God’s word, we become the word. And when we grow to reflect the word of God, we become life-giving Spirit by the reason of God’s word in us.
How often do you feed on God’s word?
A constant feeding on God’s word, will increase your faith, kill your fears, kill your doubts and also transform you.
A total obedience to God’s word also helps us to live a pure and holy life. Psalm 119:9-11.

We can read our Bibles to be connected and grow in the word, hear audio or videotapes of anointed men of God, read spiritual books that are in line with God’s word.
These are practical ways of renewing our mind.

2. Guard your mind with all diligence.
The Bible tells us to guard our mind with all diligence for out of it, flows the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23.
Meaning when your mind is exposed, the devil can possibly and easily corrupt it.
Are you concerned and living with a strong passion for a better life and impact?
Then you must keep a sound mindset.

How can one guard his mind;
* We must close our mind and ears to negative hate speeches and gossips about others.
* We must learn to love and accommodate.
* Put away from yourself a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from your life.
* keep your eyes on positive things and ahead of our journey.
* Be mindful of where you go. You cannot sit in the counsel of the scornful and expect a positive mindset and actions.
* Completely reprove evil. Take your hands and feet off evil. Proverbs 4:23-27.

3. Keep a positive thought.
There is power in our thoughts.
The Bible says, as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. Proverbs 23:7.
God wants us to keep a clean heart and conscience.
Have you ever wondered how most times, you get controlled by what has been in your mind?
There’s power in our thoughts, and that Is why God wants us to keep a positive thought.

In conclusion, let the word of God be your standard of living and also just as Apostle Paul said;
Philippians 4: 8. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Shalom!
