Text Luke 9:62

Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”

The strategy of the devil right from the beginning of the world is to hide the consequences of things from his victims. Because of too many distractions, we do not take time in understanding and building the kind of life God wants. Many people have taken God as a second option and the issues of life the first option. Many read the word of God and knowingly violate it believing God will have mercy. Yes God will have mercy if you confess and repent of your sins. However, let us not forget what the Lord Jesus said in our text (Luke 9:36), “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”

The kingdom of God belongs to determined people, people who have made up their minds to stay on track and never let go. Come rain come shine they will never give up. These people have discovered a treasure (their salvation) and never want to let it go for a moment. Jesus told a parable of the kingdom of God to be like a man who finds treasure and does all he can to protect and continually cherish it.

You must always cherish your salvation, for it is the most wonderful thing that ever happened to you on earth. Your life must be totally given to Jesus such that you do not desire any form of physical blessing but only what he chooses to give to you.

Are you fit for the kingdom of heaven? Have you been distracted all these while leaving a hypocritical life? It is time friends to get serious with God. Make peace with God in prayer, place your hand once more upon the plow and keep moving forward without looking back.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to forget about the distractions of this world and focus solely on you. Amen

Read Psalm 23 for meditation.
