Joshua 6:22-25

22 But to the two men who had spied out the land, Joshua said, “Go into the prostitute’s house and bring out from there the woman and all who belong to her, as you swore to her.” 23 So the young men who had been spies went in and brought out Rahab and her father and mother and brothers and all who belonged to her. And they brought all her relatives and put them outside the camp of Israel. 24 And they burned the city with fire, and everything in it. Only the silver and gold, and the vessels of bronze and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the Lord. 25 But Rahab the prostitute and her father’s household and all who belonged to her, Joshua saved alive. And she has lived in Israel to this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.

The wise decision made by Rehab the prostitute saved her life and that of her family. Although she was a prostitute, the God of Israel deemed her fit to be pardoned. Two striking facts about Rehab: she was a full-time prostitute and was never from Israel. Despite these “negative” facts, it pleased God to send His son through her lineage.

“Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab, Boaz the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth, Obed the father of Jesse,  and Jesse the father of King David ” Matthew 1:5 -6

“He (Jesus) shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David” Luke 1:32

How could God have allowed His son Jesus to come from the lineage of a foreigner and a sinner? This tells us with God there is no limit. He chooses to use whosoever can make the right decision. Rehab in the midst of all influences from her people, she would have relied on the strength of her country Jerico but she made a choice to rely on the one true God. She knew that the God of Israel was able to make useless the might of Jerico, and thus God glorified her. He made the name of this foreign woman glorious even to this day.

No matter your position, no matter your past, there is no limit to the height God can take you to. As long as you have made the right choice of believing in Jesus, your victory is certain. Your victory might not come like that of Rehab, but be rest assured your victory will give you fulfillment in life.

Keep trusting Jesus, He is God over the Sabbath. No limits with Him

But I know that the king of Egypt will not allow you to go unless a mighty hand compels him.

(May the mighty hand of God compel all your enemies today in Jesus name)
