My service

Hebrews 11:5

By faith Enoch was taken up so that he did not see death: “He could not be found, because God had taken him away.” For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.

Your service to God is not optional but mandatory

I got up early in the morning, picked my bible and went to a quiet place to commune with the Lord. The atmosphere felt so great and I spent more time than I had planned to spend. After such a great morning with the Lord, I headed straight for my day’s job. Because I had a wonderful time in the presence of the Lord, I said to myself “indeed this day would be very smooth”. To my greatest disappointment, the day started with lots of disappointments and stress. As I pondered about the days’ stress, I could hear the devil whispering to me how I wasted the morning talking with God. At once I heard the still small voice of the Holy Spirit teaching me about my service to God.

God is Spirit and whoever must worship God must worship Him in Truth and in Spirit. Hebrews 11:6 says “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him” It immediately dawned on me that my service to God should not depend on what I hope to achieve but for who He is. I must irrespective of what comes my way diligently seek Him always.

Dear friend, no matter what you do, God is God, He created you, and the wisest thing you can do for yourself is to serve your creator. One good news is, God also created all things and he gives to anyone freely as He desires. Be encouraged today in your service to God, though it may seem as if it profits nothing at the moment, be rest assured He rewards all who diligently seek Him.

For me to live is Christ and to die is gain! I must be accountable to the one who made me. If being accountable to God hurts then my life must hurt because He is the only source of Life (Joshua Sopuru).
