His resurrection: My assurance

Text: Luke 24: 1 – 6

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright, the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee.

Have you ever seen a man who defeated death, a man who death could not hold down? Jesus is that man who defeated death. He did not only defeat death for himself but he did on behalf of whoever believes in him. Jesus speaking to Martha concerning the death of her brother Lazarus said ” “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:24-26).

Do you believe in Jesus’ death and resurrection? Do you believe you will rise again if you trust in Jesus? These are questions we must ask ourselves. Jesus asked Matha “Do you believe?

If you believe, then be rest assured that when you die you will be resurrected with Jesus. If you do not believe, you can be like that wise man who cried out “Lord help my unbelief!”(Mark 9:23-25).  Jesus is ready to help your unbelief, he has placed his servants to guide you into understanding the truth, he has given you the bible to help grow your faith in him.

You must believe in the resurrection power of Jesus to be resurrected with him after death.

Prayer: Lord Jesus strengthen my faith in you, give me a deeper revelation of the truth in your word.
