Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Jesus speaking in John 10:4-5 explains how his sheep will never follow a stranger but will only listen to his voice. There are so many voices in the world today leading people away from God’s ultimate truth. Many of such voice may seem to be from God, many tell a little truth garnished with lies.
Jesus refers to such preachers as wolves in sheep’s clothing. They seem to be for us but they are against us, They seem to love us but they are only concerned about themselves, they seem to love Jesus, but they blaspheme him in their hearts. Their main purpose is to confuse and lead many to hell. You must run away from these kind of people as they are there to limit your spiritual growth.
Because the devil is aware of the coming of our redeemer, he has sent his agents of darkness as agents of light to mislead children of God even in churches. Many of these agents prophecy, they heal the sick, they cast of demons, some may even raise the dead. But Jesus said on the last day he will say unto them “go away from me i never knew you” (Matthew 7:21-23).
For this reason, we should never access a true child of God by his spiritual gifts, we should rather seek to find the manifestation of the fruit of the Holy Spirit in him. That fruit is the life of Jesus. Jesus is a great example for a fulfilled work with God. Whatsoever is not found in Jesus should never be found in us.
God is calling for a deeper communion with you his child. You must hear and understand Gods voice in other to expose the lies of the devil. Hearing and Understanding the voice of Jesus comes from knowing him, to know him you must first submit to his Lordship over your life. Then you must desire to learn more about him by studying his word (the bible).
Studying his word helps us understand his personality: how he will respond to situations, how he speaks etc. We also get to recognize his voice as we read about him. Another way we get to know him is through prayer. Tarry in prayer child of God. Do not let the devil steal your precious moment with the lord. When you tarry in prayers, you attain different levels of intimacy with God.
As we pray and study Gods word we get to understand the voice of Jesus and his personality, we get to know what he would do and what he would not do in situations we encounter daily.
